With the successes of DesignBUILD Sydney now behind us, attention has turned to planning for DesignBUILD 2012 which is to be held in Melbourne between 27 – 29 June.

Numerous key organisations including the Institute of Architects, Master Plumbers and Building Designers Association have already thrown their support behind the event; whilst several long-term exhibitors, including Kingspan, FrameCAD, Urban Energy and Aluminium Industries, have confirmed significant participation levels on the floor plan.

The successes of Sydney and the subsequent audited visitor numbers has also seen some significant interest being shown by market-leading companies absent from the show in recent years, with some big news stories sure to be on the horizon in upcoming Blueprint Newsletters.

As in past years, our great friends at hipagesTV were onsite at DesignBUILD in Sydney with Mel interviewing a record number of exhibitors over the three days.

For those who weren't able to make it to the expo this is a great opportunity to experience the show and learn more about some of the amazing products that were on display.

Plumbing

Re-introduced for next year, this dedicated space will showcase products, tools and services for plumbing contractors and mechanical engineers.

Technology & Security

Along with sustainability, technology in design is now a high priority. This area will showcase the latest security, smart home and automation technologies.

Green Tag Pavilion

This feature space within the Green Building Zone will be open to manufacturers with ecospecifier Green Tag certified products. More details will be available in the coming weeks so keep posted or contact us for more information.

With more than half of the DesignBUILD audience working on building sites daily, they expect to be able to see and try out the latest tools for their trade at the expo.

VEK Tools showed how popular and effective an interactive demonstration space can be at their power tools pavilion this year in Sydney, with thousands of tradies passing through and snapping up some great deals. In 2012 we will be making it easier for all tool and equipment companies to do the same by taking advantage of a Demonstration Station.

Companies will have the opportunity to apply for a FREE 3m x 3m space* alongside their stand in order to demonstrate and have visitor's road test their latest technology! Power tools, lasers, thermal cameras, hand tools, safety gear, materials handling… contact us to see if your organisation might qualify.

* Available free of charge with a booking of 18m² minimum where the booking is received prior to December 2011. Limited spaces available. An overview of the planned layout and format of demonstrations will need to be provided for approval.
